I came to Studio One close to eleven years ago to find my "abs" and ended up with so much more. I've gained so much knowledge about my own body from Paul, Ana, and all the other instructors and in turn use that to help all of you gain strength in your own bodies. The best part truly are the friendships I've made and all the terrific stories of success found here at the studio. We're always moving forward and hope you'll join us! During my early years at the studio I was a full-time professional gardener. That's right: garden all day and teach Pilates at night. After having my daughter I switched gears to full-time instructor, part-time gardener. My higher education includes schooling for Horticulture and continuous training here at the studio.Ā

I became a client at Studio One after the recommendation of my physical therapist who had been treating me for a damaged disc and low back pain. My PT said that Studio One was the place for me to strengthen my core and start back to a daily exercise program that had been stalled because of my back pain and total knee replacements. He was right! As my core strength has increased, my back pain has decreased. I love learning how to apply Vasie Pilates to my own body, and having the opportunity to share that knowledge with others.
I am the mother to three amazing adult children, have lived on four continents, and in five countries. I am a certified personal trainer, worked as a chocolatier, a baker, and a hairdresser.

I started at Studio One in 2015 to get out of pain from scoliosis and got hooked pretty quickly. Iāve never felt very athletic, so it was incredibly exciting to finally find a form of exercise that challenged me and improved my posture and well-being while decreasing back pain. I hope to help all our clients get out of pain and feel better in their bodiesāI canāt think of anything more rewarding.Iāve been acting in Alaska since 1995 and I canāt imagine life without theatre. Some favorite recent productions include The 39 Steps, She Kills Monsters, The Ice-Breaker, Macbeth, Pinkalicious, and A Wrinkle in Time. Iām also a regular at the Stories at the Cemetery. Although I didnāt start until age 26, I love all kinds of dance and take classes at Studio Pulse when I can. I graduated from Georgetown with a degree in International History.Ā

I came to the studio about three years ago. During that time I was struggling with multiple dance injuries, which eventually prevented me from being able to return.
I started with a 2-week boot camp and was amazed with the results, returning to dance only six months later after doing Pilates regularly at Studio One. I have now been an instructor for over two years and love every minute of it!
I received most of my dance training with Alaska Dance Theatre and Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy. I also attended dance intensives with The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and Vaganova Ballet Academy. Graduated from East High School in 2008. Graduated from UAA in 2014, receiving a bachelorās degree in Environment and Society.
