The Power of Breath

What Is Rofling® Structural Integration?

When referring to the body the term "structural integration" refers to a holistic approach aimed at improving the alignment, balance, and integration of the body's structural components, such as muscles, fascia, and bones. It focuses on optimizing the body's posture, movement patterns, and overall function by addressing imbalances and restrictions within the musculoskeletal system.

Structural integration techniques typically involve hands-on manipulation and manual therapy methods, such as massage, myo-fascial release, and movement re-education. The goal is to bring about positive changes in alignment, and movement mechanics, leading to improved physical performance, reduced pain or discomfort, and enhanced overall well-being.

The concept of structural integration was initially developed by Ida Rolf, who founded the Rolfing® method. Rolfing® is a specific form of structural integration that aims to create a more balanced and integrated body through a series of sessions that target different areas of the body's connective tissue (fascia). By working with the fascial system, structural integration seeks to optimize the body's overall structural integrity and functionality.

Structural integration is often used as a complementary approach to address various musculoskeletal conditions, postural imbalances, movement restrictions, and chronic pain. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of the body's tissues and the role of proper alignment and integration in supporting optimal function and well-being.

DEEP CORE

TRANSVERSUS ABDOMINIS/MULTIFIDUS AND RESPIRATORY DIAPHRAGM.
The only muscle that can give you flatter abs, a narrower waist, decrease back pain, and stabilize your torso is the transversus abdominis/multifidus, commonly referred to as the “corset muscle” or “shrink wrap muscle.” Few trainers, workout hounds, athletes, or body professionals have a simple way to help you activate one of the most important systems. The VASIE method provides predictable, systematic cues and corrections to make sure you are activating the right muscles.

SUSTAINABLE  & AGE DEFYING.

Working on your core should never be hard on your joints; it should be something you can do into your 90s and beyond. Your Deep Core maintains the length of your spine, the tone in your waist, and the spring in your step.

BEYOND FITNESS: Workouts that fix your physiology.

Imagine doing a workout that not only tones your core, strengthens your glutes, and helps you with your back but also intentionally and predictably resets your homeostasis. An exercise that restores your natural calm and mental clarity. The VASIE Pilates breath linking(TM) technique increases your Vagal tone creating a healthier response to stress and resilience.

What is VASIE® Pilates?

VASIE® Pilates is a unique, integrative approach to movement that blends the core principles of Pilates with the transformative power of Structural Integration. Our method is designed to help you achieve core strength, improve posture, enhance joint stability, and build a toned body, all while fostering a deep understanding of how your body moves. At Studio One VASIE® Pilates, we emphasize quality movement, mindful exercises, and a focus on overall wellness to help you achieve lasting results.

The VASIE® Approach: More Than Just Pilates

The VASIE® approach to Pilates goes beyond traditional Pilates by incorporating Structural Integration exercises that focus on aligning the body’s bone structure and enhancing joint health. This holistic approach improves how your body functions, helping you move more efficiently and feel better. By emphasizing the importance of proper alignment, joint stability, and core strength, VASIE® Pilates helps you create a balanced, resilient body that is both strong and flexible.

Core Strength and a Toned Body

Core strength is the foundation of Studio One VASIE® Pilates. Our exercises are designed to activate and strengthen the deep core muscles, including the transversus abdominis, pelvic floor, and diaphragm. These muscles create a stable foundation for movement, helping you achieve a toned body, better posture, and flat abs. Unlike traditional workouts that focus on superficial muscle groups, our approach targets the deep stabilizers, ensuring that your body moves efficiently and safely.

If you’re looking to tone your midsection and achieve flat abs, VASIE® Pilates is the perfect solution. Our low-impact exercises, combined with mindful breathing techniques, help sculpt and strengthen your core while also improving overall function. By focusing on quality movement rather than quantity, you can achieve a toned, balanced body that moves with ease.

Pilates for Posture Improvement

Good posture is key to overall health, and Studio One VASIE® Pilates places a strong emphasis on posture improvement. Poor posture can lead to a variety of issues, including back pain, neck pain, and decreased joint mobility. Our classes are designed to help you align your body properly, build the core strength needed to support good posture, and reduce tension in overworked areas like the shoulders and lower back.

We use Structural Integration exercises to address the body's fascial network, ensuring that all parts of the body work harmoniously together. By improving alignment and posture, you can experience less pain, more energy, and a greater sense of wellbeing. Our approach helps you carry yourself with confidence, making everyday activities more comfortable and enjoyable.

Joint Health and Stability

Maintaining joint health is essential for staying active and pain-free. At Studio One VASIE® Pilates, we focus on exercises that improve joint stability, enhance joint recovery, and promote overall joint health. Our approach is ideal for individuals dealing with conditions like hypermobility or Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, as we prioritize controlled, low-impact movements that strengthen the muscles supporting the joints without causing strain.

Our specialized program for hypermobility provides a safe and effective way for hypermobile individuals to exercise. By focusing on the smaller stabilizing muscles that are often overlooked in traditional workouts, we help stabilize joints, reduce pain, and prevent injury. Whether you're dealing with hypermobility or simply want to improve your joint health, our classes are designed to help you move with confidence.

Rehab-Style Pilates for Injury Recovery

If you’re recovering from an injury, Studio One VASIE® Pilates offers rehab-style Pilates that supports the healing process and helps you regain strength and mobility. Our classes are tailored to meet your specific needs, ensuring that each movement is performed safely and effectively. We focus on joint recovery, core strength, and overall body alignment to help you return to your normal activities without pain or limitations.

Our rehabilitation-focused approach includes Pilates for back pain relief, Pilates for foot pain relief, and Pilates for chronic pain management. By addressing the root causes of pain, such as poor posture or muscle imbalances, we help you create a strong foundation for lasting relief. Our low-impact exercises are gentle on the joints but powerful in their ability to build strength, improve mobility, and enhance overall function.

Nervous System-Focused Pilates

At Studio One VASIE® Pilates, we understand that movement is not just about muscles—it’s also about the nervous system. Our nervous system-focused Pilates approach helps to regulate the body’s response to stress, improve focus, and create a sense of calm. By incorporating breathing techniques and mindful movement, we help you connect with your body on a deeper level, enhancing both physical and mental wellbeing.

Our programs include Pilates for POTS syndrome and other conditions that benefit from nervous system regulation. By focusing on exercises that are both effective and calming, we help you build strength without triggering symptoms like dizziness or fatigue. Our approach helps you feel more in control of your body, improving your quality of life.

Breathing Techniques and Core Reflex Training

Breathing is a fundamental aspect of Studio One VASIE® Pilates. Our breathing techniques are designed to activate the deep core muscles, improve oxygen flow, and enhance overall movement efficiency. Proper breathwork helps to engage the core, reduce tension, and support the body’s natural movement patterns, making each exercise more effective.

We also emphasize core reflex training, which involves training the body to automatically engage the core muscles in response to movement. This reflexive core engagement is key to maintaining stability and preventing injury during everyday activities. By training the core to work automatically, you’ll experience improved balance, better posture, and greater ease of movement.
