Focus Areas:

  • Recover from stress fractures in foot
  • Reduce chronic hip flexor tightness
  • Reduce strong familial posture patterns
  • Stabilize hypermobile joints

BEFORE STARTING VASIE

When I started VASIE my legs were so far out of alignment because of my genetics and professional dance that I couldn’t run or walk well. I remember feeling like I had to struggle all the time to maintain my weight and to simply feel OK in my body and in my mind. While I still exercise and do VASIE often, now I no longer feel like I “have” to do it just to feel OK. I just feel better when I do VASIE a few times a week.

PROGRESS AT 20 YEARS:

In the past I felt trapped in the "eat, burn calories, my knees hurt" cycle.  Now that I live more from my “core”, I am naturally conscious of what goes into my body.  My body awareness is better so I work “with” my body.  I can workout really hard but not get into joint pain.  I get injured far less and have far less pain in my body than before.    Now I love to run and hike!

I now receive a lot of compliments on my posture and how I walk.  It’s funny because I don’t have to make and effort to have good posture or be “graceful”…

FUTURE GOALS:

This “after” photo is already 8 years old!  I feel better, and I think I look better at 40 than I when that photo was taken.  Im inspired daily by our clients and Im very optimistic about how good I can feel and look into my 70s and 80s.   I feel like this makes me optimistic with my goal setting.  Goals for the next five years are:  reduce the “knock knee” pattern in my legs even more, improve my balance over my feet, and maintain and build more tone in my low abs.   I’d like to continue to improve my running and maybe enter some races.  I also want to dance and move much more.
