FOCUS AREAS:

Stop Injury/Re-injury Cycle

Change Workout Type From Non-responsive/Injury Prone to Workout Positive

BEFORE LEARNING VASIE:

I really wanted to do VASIE Pilates because I heard it could change how my body responded to exercise.  I was stuck in a cycle of working out hard and getting injured a lot.  When I was able to workout, I felt like a total klutz.  My body didn’t look like my friends’ bodies.  I never seemed to get the same good results and my body just didn't respond well to exercise.  I was chronically frustrated and I felt like a loser around exercise. I could never get the weight to come off regardless of how hard I tried.

PROGRESS TO DATE:

When I saw these photos I was amazed.  I’ve gotten so many compliments. I knew that my body had transformed but I didn’t realize how much.  It happened really naturally.  I do VASIE workouts 2 - 3 times per week.  I am out of pain.  I don’t injure myself when I workout.  If I get a small tweak, it will goes away in a day - not weeks.  Workouts look good and I had an instructor point out my form and call me a "natural athlete!"  Finally, even the weight is starting to come off naturally.  I lost 10 pounds between photos.  Aesthetically, I’m excited to to see my collar bones and longer neck!

FUTURE VASIE GOALS:

In the next couple of years I want to continue to refine my bone structure.  I want to tone my core to flatten my abs and protect joints.  I want to continue this journey of getting stronger and more balanced!

Goals:

Stop Bodies Downward Spiral.

Get out of Pain & Get Life Back.

BEFORE LEARNING VASIE:

My physical therapist sent me to Studio One Pilates to to try VASIE pilates.  I had been managing chronic pain in my knees, feet, and neck for years.  After I got a double knee replacements, my knee pain was gone, but the rest of my body didn’t fit well with these new joints.  I got into serious low back pain.  I resigned myself to push through and endure the rest of my life with a high level of chronic pain.  I struggled with depression. I was in a constant state of fear and I was afraid to move.  Finally, I was worried about how I would be able to take care of myself!

Before I came to Studio One Pilates I was working as a Trainer in a regular gym.  I actually taught a lot of gym style "core" classes.  I had to quit working as a trainer because of the amount of pain I was in.  After starting as a client at Studio One I started feeling better.  I signed up for their training Program to become a VASIE instructor and have taught for over two years.

PROGRESS AT 2 YEARS:

I have control back. While the pain isn’t completely gone, the fear and hopelessness are.  I know what exercises to do and how to use them with VASIE breathing to relieve the pain.  I have a new confidence in myself and in my movement.  In addition, as a VASIE instructor, I can really relate to clients who have been on a similar journey.  I enjoy working with people to finally get their bodies back and find new hope.

FUTURE VASIE GOALS:

My goals for the future are to learn how to get even better control over my pain and tension areas.  My choices of activities will be dictated more and more by what I want to do instead of by my pain level.  I’m looking forward to doing less observing and more participating in what life has to offer.
